On 20th January, 2023, KOICA’s alumni (KAAG) made a donation to the Echoing Hills Village, an orphanage located in Madina. The center, which is home to orphaned children as well as children and adults with special needs was presented with food, toiletries, and other sanitary items. The exercise was an initiative of the newly elected executives of KAAG as part of their New Year Celebration. The donation was also used as an opportunity to build the capacity of caregivers on children’s rights, handling children with disability and special needs. The girls in the orphanage were also engaged in a talk on menstrual hygiene. KAAG President, Lovia Afoakwah and her team of executives together with members were in full force. Mr. Seungmin Oh, the Senior Deputy Country Director together with a team from KOICA Ghana joined this noble cause.Also in attendance, as a special guest was Okyeame Kwame who used the occasion to encourage the caregivers and entertain the children.
