Message From Our Country Director

It is with great pleasure and a sense of deep collaboration that I share the remarkable journey we have embarked upon with the KOICA Alumni Association of Ghana (KAAG). My name is Dong Hyun

Lee, the Country Director of KOICA Ghana Office;  And I am honoured to reflect on our partnership and its profound impact on the communities we serve.

Since 1997, the Government of the Republic of Korea through KOICA has granted numerous Masters and Doctoral Scholarships, as well as short term training programs to Ghanaian Government Officials, who subsequently become KOICA Alumni Members. The KOICA Alumni Association of Ghana currently stands at a membership of One Thousand and Three hundred officials (1300).

Over the years, our partnership has blossomed into a dynamic and mutually beneficial alliance, centered on shared values and a common vision for a better tomorrow. Together, we have embarked on numerous initiatives that have touched the lives of countless individuals and communities across Ghana. From beach clean-up exercises to donation to orphanages, from Tree planting exercises to refurbishment of vulnerable community schools such as Anani Memorial International School and Dar Es Salaam Primary School, ensuring a safe educational environment to protecting the environment, our partnership has made a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.

KAAG’s work is a shining example of how alumni networks can be a powerful force for positive change. By harnessing the skills, knowledge, and experiences gained during your studies in Korea, you have consistently and selflessly given back to your home country. Whether it’s in the fields of education, healthcare, technology, or culture, your initiatives have made a significant difference in the lives of countless Ghanaians.

KAAG has also been instrumental in fostering cultural exchange and understanding between our two nations. Your promotion of Korean culture through events, festivals, and language programs has enriched the cultural landscape of Ghana and deepened the bonds of friendship between our two countries. Your commitment to cultural diplomacy is truly commendable.

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire KAAG Executive Board and the Alumni Members for their dedication, passion, and unwavering support. Our journey would not have been possible without your commitment to our shared mission.

Thank you for being our valued partner, and here’s to a future filled with even greater achievements.
